There is a great Benchmark test on http://geeknizer.com/ to demonstrate the speed differnece of each browser (they use IE, Chrome, Firefox and Opera – instead of Safari).
You can check them out by click the button:
Benchmark
Firefox
My default has been Firefox for some time, it is much faster than Internet Explorer, and it makes web pages look like they were intented to look 99% of the time. The problem I have with Firefox is it has the odd hiccup which brings it to a crawl sometimes (mainly when editing WordPress posts), and I find even though it makes the web pages look good, they look better is some other browsers. (personal taste)
Chrome
This is my new goto browser. It’s super fast, makes everything look great, and it’s so secure I believe microsoft is building 10 around their secuirty. (reference link to come) Chrome is updated very frequently too, and it’s usually done automatically.
Safari
I’ve only used this browser for testing new layouts. It’s the default browser for MAC and I’m sure its’ fine, I’ll let the MAC users comment below. For the brief times I’ve used it and from various benchmarks and other reviews it seems to be up there with the top 3.
As you can see I didn’t really get much into the other 3 browsers, or mention various other options. My main goal here was to get people to upgrade their versions of IE to at least 9, but preferably to Chrome, Firefox or Safari. For all you Windows XP users, and slow running Vista users, wanting more speed; I highly recommend one of the 3 browsers. They are all free, they run on almost every computer, they will speed up your internet experience and have less errors with newer websites. So upgrade today and you can come back next week to see what other tips I have and thank me in the comments
